About DarkWaters...

Dee has been working with the tarot for over 10 years, after growing up in a home where both of her parents used the cards. She is an active member of the local Pagan community, interested in promoting knowledge about environmental issues, cruelty free living and eating, as well as a respect for heritage and our shared past. Dee is currently studying for a postgraduate degree in archaeology, and about to start research into the interpretation of ancient archaeological landscapes in the modern era. She currently volunteers in the Tarot category at All Experts.

The Readings...

The readings offered will provide guidance as to your present situation, why the past has brought you to this point in your life, and how the current situation will progress or be resolved.

Most readings will focus on your own personal development: mentally; spiritually and practically - how day to day life, and the situations you have, and will, face reflect on this. Please be aware that only messages and guidance received through the cards can be offered; the readings will always be honest about what the cards are saying, whether positive or negative, so please think carefully about whether you are prepared for these insights before asking for a reading.

Many people have asked 'Why the name DarkWaters?'. This is quite simply the ancient 'Celtic' meaning of the name 'Dee', a symbol which has become as big a part of me as my name itself.

Water has long been used as a metaphor for our emotions and the subconscious, so dark waters suggests the hidden realms of the mind which we must explore through life on the path to self-understanding, a journey in which the tarot can play a vital role if we take the time to stop and try to understand its wisdom.

This very much alludes to the lessons of the Hermit, who sits on his rock, seeing through the darkness only by the light from his lamp, watching images and dreams rise from the ocean which surrounds him, a symbol of his subconscious mind.

The Tarot can help us to understand the things in our lives which seem difficult to deal with; each of the Major Arcana representing a phase, or challenge, which we must face in life. Little can be said with certainty about the origins of this form of divination, yet from its study we can see that it is an age old tradition, which speaks a language of archetypes, presumably formed and reformed in societies which respected observation as a means to understanding both the outer world, and the realms of the self.

The tarot is not merely a deck of cards, it is a series of pictures which tell stories; pictures constituting of symbols which have been understood throughout many times and places, and used to convey meanings both to the subconscious and conscious mind, and appeal to our sense of primal understanding, which many believe is inherent to us all, if only we choose to listen.

Darkwaters was formed to offer readings to people seeking guidance, and to offer a reliable source of information about the wisdom of the tarot.
